Candace Putric, MA

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

You walk on eggshells all the time. You don’t feel mentally safe. When you express anxiety or communicate a legitimate expectation, it starts an unwanted war within your home. Finding a healthy balance in any relationship can be difficult. The beginning of your therapy journey can be scary! My goal is to make the transition to therapy as easy and painless as possible. That’s why I offer one-on-one counselling, couples, and family therapy in helping you feel understood and supported.

In my experience, therapy can always be useful at any
stage in life. I have experience working with families in supporting them through their unique dynamics and finding solutions in uniting common goals and learning communication skills. I also specialize in understanding the complexity of neurodivergent family members and how difficult it can be to understand.

Couples Let’s face it, relationships can be difficult. The core foundations of a relationship include sex and intimacy, communication, finances, and children. When any of these are off balance, it throws the relationship into turmoil. Couples therapy helps restore connection and commitment. Successfully connecting with a partner requires reconciling with each other.

Throughout my journey as a therapist, I understand the challenges and conflicts that can arise within any relationship. The difficulties that I commonly see is miscommunication. These conflicts can have lasting impacts on any relationship.

My approach as a psychotherapist is providing therapy in unconventional ways that are unique to your needs and goals. Together, we can develop a treatment plan that addresses and provides meaningful and lasting change.

I have extensive knowledge in working with ADHD, OCD, Autism, Anxiety, Depression and Borderline Personality Disorder. I can provide confidence-building skills to youth, young adults, and adults to improve their self-esteem and provide support for their mental health diagnoses. I am crisis prevention and intervention trained, couples and family therapy certified.

Are you curious about Candace?

My decision to become a therapist is driven by my childhood where mental wellbeing was always an afterthought. This became my motivation when choosing this career path as I want to make an impact on the importance of normalizing mental health. I have seen the challenges and struggles others have endured and am committed to helping individuals of my community that I am part of.

I usually find my inspiration when I am outdoors whether in my backyard or in the kitchen. It allows my creativity to be at my fullest potential and where I can focus and see things from different perspectives in life.

I regularly practice mindfulness by meditation and self-compassion. I believe that feeding the mind with a positive regard, it allows for a healthy mind set. I have an abundance of love for animals and enjoy walking my dog but also enjoy cuddling with my cat.

I enjoy cooking and baking. One thing I enjoy the most in the kitchen is creating new recipes. Being outdoors is one of my favourite things to do, especially when I am camping or canoeing with my family. A lot of people would describe me as a creative person as I enjoy DIY projects and finding creative ways to express myself through art.
