Jon Gould, MA (cand.)

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Intern

Life often presents us with both expected and unexpected challenges that can feel overwhelming to face alone. I’m passionate about supporting individuals as they navigate these experiences—whether it is anxiety, depression, stress, ADHD, ASD, life transitions, or relational struggles.

With years of experience working with teens, emerging adults, adults, and neurodivergent individuals with complex needs, I bring a compassionate, collaborative approach to therapy. With a focus on working with individuals navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, men’s issues, major life changes, and other mental health concerns, my goal is to create a therapeutic space grounded in trust, respect, and compassion—one that honours unique experiences, values, and identity.

I understand that beginning therapy can feel intimidating and I am dedicated to making therapy a safe and welcoming place for you. I’m committed to meeting you wherever you are on your journey, and working alongside you to identify your personal strengths, build effective coping strategies, and pursue the goals that matter most to you.

Together, we’ll focus on developing tools and insights to help you manage challenges, foster resilience, and create meaningful change in your life. I look forward to supporting you in a way that ensures you feel seen, heard, and empowered every step of the way.

Are you curious about Jon?

I find inspiration from the sights, sounds, and smells found on a walk or hike in a forest. I am also calmed by being close to the ocean.

Being intentional about connecting with my family and friends helps me maintain my mental health and gives me proper perspective. Staying active by going for regular walks and playing basketball helps me focus on my physical health. Ensuring that I maintain a healthy work-life balance helps me properly prioritize and focus my time and energy and protects against experiencing burnout.

I love spending time with my family, particularly going for walks or hikes together. I am passionate about sports, particularly playing basketball and watching football and basketball. I enjoy getting into a great tv show or video game. I always enjoy playing board games and card games, and I have gotten into playing Dungeons & Dragons with a group of friends the last couple years.

What made you decide to choose your role as a therapist?

Having some of my loved ones struggle with their mental health and not having access to the support that a therapist could provide initially put the thought in my head that I would like to become a therapist. And my previous role working with teens and young adults struggling with a variety of challenges and situations that I was not equipped to properly help and support at the time fueled my desire to pursue my role as a therapist.

What are you biggest interests that show a bit about you?

I enjoy listening to a variety of different genres of music and love going to concerts. I am passionate about sports, whether it is playing basketball or watching football and basketball. I love watching comedy specials or attending comedy shows. I appreciate a good video game or show that I can get immersed in. I am also always down to play board games or card games. I find there aren’t many things better than connecting with friends over good food and/or coffee.
