Alexandra Postings, MA (CAND.)

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) & Intern Therapist

As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with personal experience supporting LGBTQ2 and neurodivergents, I offer a unique experience and perspective in therapy. Managing what life throws at us can be quite overwhelming and challenging. Whether it be starting a new job, off to school, navigating relationships, managing ADHD, dealing with a break up, or just dealing with feelings of anxiety and depression – know that you don’t have to do it alone. Let’s work together to provide a unique and personalized way to help individuals discover themselves and find tools and techniques to help them move more confidently through life.

I believe that our life goals is not about reaching a destination, but about a continuous journey of understanding and acceptance. I believe that therapy let’s you and I to connect, building an approach in therapy with the belief that each person holds the key to their own healing, and to help you reach this. Through the use of multiple approaches, I hope to help you on your journey towards healing. I provide a safe environment for client’s to feel supported and validated.

Are you curious about Alexandra?

Since I was young, I have always known I wanted to help people. It wasn’t until high school when I became aware of my own mental illness and all of those struggling with mental illness around me that I came to realize just how I wanted to help others. It was at this moment that I became the listening ear that my friends would go to when they needed someone to talk to. Going through therapy as a teenager also helped me to realize the importance and benefits that therapy can have on an individual and I knew I wanted to be that person for others.

My favourite place to find inspiration is through conversing with others. Opening my mind to the thoughts, perspectives, opinions and experiences of others allows me to broaden my knowledge and views of the world around me and the unique individuals in it.

To be healthy I believe there needs to be a balance between physical, mental/emotional, and spiritual health. I maintain my physical health through physical exercise, such as going on walks with my son and dog or going on hikes with my husband. I maintain my mental/emotional health through talking with friends and family, as well as practicing mindfulness exercises. I maintain my spiritual health by connecting with nature and expressing gratitude to the environment and individuals around me.

I value openness and honesty in a client. I want my clients to feel comfortable sharing with me and being honest with not only themselves but also with me. I want them to feel comfortable to let me know if what I am saying does not resonate with them or if I misunderstood them.

Some of my favourite things to do are going to the beach, thrift shopping, listening to music, watching Formula 1, and spending time with my family and friends.
