Avery Robb, MA (CAND.)
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) & Intern Therapist
In addition to my passion for neurodivergence, I am equally dedicated to supporting the families of first responders. Growing up as the daughter of a recently retired police officer, I have firsthand experience of the unique challenges faced by families whose loved ones serve in high-risk roles. Life for these families can be incredibly demanding, as the constant presence of danger can create profound stress and emotional strain. I believe that families of first responders deserve a special level of care and understanding, as their needs often go unnoticed despite the significant impact on their well-being.

Are you curious about Avery?
What made you decide to choose your role as a therapist?
I decided to pursue becoming a therapist because I felt that my personal experience with mental health could provide value and support to someone going through something similar. When I was amid my mental health journey with OCD and anxiety, I was embarrassed that I was having such distressing thoughts, mostly because I did not know what was going on. It was not until my own therapist helped me with learning about these disorders, coping mechanisms and who I was outside of having OCD and anxiety that I knew I had found my passion. When I started to understand what living with OCD and anxiety would look like for me, I knew I needed to help others find that as well. Being a teenager and young adult with an anxiety disorder is very difficult, and with my firsthand experience, I knew I needed to take that educational and career path to achieve the goal of helping others through a similar journey.
